ALOHA FLEA MARKET

DAY 4 - Aloha Flea Market

The least expensive way to do the flea market is to get there like most tourist on city bus.  The cost is trip is $1.50 one-way.  Those who don't want to take the city bus, can take the Flea Market Shuttle for $6
Located at Hawaii's largest sports venue, the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet is a place where families can gather to share their cultural diversity with pride and a feeling of Aloha. Since 1979, the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet has become Hawaii's premier outdoor market, featuring over 700 vendors, crafters,  artists from all over the world, a true melting pot of Aloha.

Nowhere else will you find so much of so many things for so little.

The Aloha Flea Market is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. It's been a running event for over twenty years and attracts about 900 vendors and sellers and thousands of shoppers, buyers, and visitors.

The swap closes at 1pm when there's a UH football game.

Admission is fifty cents for everyone over 12, and though every day is a good day for the flea market, Sunday seems to bring in more of local household stuffs. Visitors might not be too interested in kitchen stuff.

The seller's tents and stalls are set up in the Aloha Stadium parking lot in four or five concentric circles.

No matter what, you're going to do a lot of walking, so come early to beat the sun, wear good walking shoes, loose clothes, and a sun hat (umbrella too?), and have your water bottle at the ready. You will see folks with wheeled carry-on luggage to make the walk easier.

And once you get your stuff back to the hotel, you might just look up the local UPS, MailBoxes, or Post Office and mail them back to yourself, rather than hassle with all your things with airport security.
